Capt. Jason B. Jones Memorial DOC – Registration Form (April 2017)

The Schuylkill United Way (SUW) is proud to host the Capt. Jason B. Jones Memorial Day of Caring on Friday May 19th, 2017. Specific details regarding the event are noted below along with a biography of Capt. Jason B. Jones.

Date: Friday May 19th, 2017

Time: 9AM – 2PM (Flexible start and end times)

About: The SUW’s Day of Caring was created to match volunteers to service projects at our Partner Agency organizations who facilitate health and human services for free or little cost to the residents of Schuylkill County. The volunteers spend hours at the nonprofit sites, working on both indoor and outdoor projects. Projects vary from gardening to painting, depending on volunteer interest and skill set. Last year, there were over 200 volunteers that took part in service projects at sites across Schuylkill County.

Location: Public parks & health and human service nonprofits throughout Schuylkill County

Volunteer Information: Volunteers are needed at locations throughout Schuylkill County. The Schuylkill United Way also asks that any health and human service nonprofit, or borough/local government, reach out if they are in need of a helping hand.

Registration: All volunteers and locations must be registered through the Schuylkill United Way, and the direct contact is Allie Andrews, Director of Community Relations (aandrews@schuylkillunitedway.org). Projects will begin at 9am, though special considerations will certainly be made for those with time constraints or special needs. Volunteers can register by calling or emailing the SUW office.

Letter Writing Campaign: As part of Day of Caring, the Schuylkill United Way will be reaching out to Elementary Schools in Schuylkill County asking them to join us in a letter writing campaign for US Military in honor of Capt. Jason B. Jones. All letters will be sent to Operation Gratitude to be matched with a care package! If your school wishes to participate, please contact the Schuylkill United Way at 570.622.6421 or email aandrews@schuylkillunitedway.org. Date of letter pick up will be Friday, May 19th. If needed, pickup for an earlier or later date can also be arranged!
